Managing Users
Users Overview
Users are the foundation of interaction within the Kinetic Platform. Whether they’re submitting requests, approving tasks, managing teams, or administering the system, each user has a unique profile that determines what they can see and do.
This section covers how to create and manage users, assign attributes, and configure user-specific data for workflows, access control, and personalization.
What You'll Learn
- How to manually create and manage users
- The difference between User Attributes and User Profile Attributes
- How attributes influence workflows, visibility, and logic
- Best practices for managing users in both manually managed and SSO-integrated environments
User Management Options
You can manage users in two primary ways:
- Manual Management: Create and edit users directly in the Console—ideal for testing, internal staff, or controlled environments.
- SSO Integration: Provision users automatically using your identity provider, with mapping for attributes, profile data, and team membership.
For large organizations, we recommend integrating with SSO for streamlined user provisioning and centralized control.
