Working with Trusted Certificates in the System Console
Overview
Trusted certificates are used to establish TLS authentication with other applications. This guide explains how to upload and delete trusted certificates using the Kinetic System Console.
Process
Before You Begin
You can upload multiple trusted certificates simultaneously, but each must be in a separate file. If your file contains more than one certificate, the system will only read up to the first instance of -----END CERTIFICATE----- and fail to upload the remaining certificates.
Adding a New Trusted Certificate
Follow these steps to add a trusted certificate:
-
From the System Console, navigate to System > Setup.
-
On the System Setup page, select the Infrastructure tab, then select the Trusted Certificates tab.
-
Click Add Certificates.
-
You can drag and drop the file(s) you want to import into the Submissions Import window or click Browse to search for and select it.
-
Once you finished adding your file(s), click Add Trusted Certificates. You must restart any Platform components that use the new trusted certificates.
Note: This process will perform a rolling restart of the Platform components. This should not result in any outages.
-
Select the Components tab.
-
Click Restart Trusted Certificates.
Deleting a Trusted Certificate
The process for deleting a trusted certificate is very similar. Navigate to the Trusted Certificates tab as described in Steps 1 and 2 above, then click the delete icon (trash can) to the right of the trusted certificate you want to delete.
Once you've deleted the trusted certificate, you must restart any Platform components that use the new trusted certificates using the same process described in Steps 6 and 7 above.
