What's New in the Documentation Library
Major Documentation Overhaul – June 2025
We’ve made significant updates across the entire Kinetic Platform documentation site to better support both new and experienced users. Whether you’re building your first workflow or managing a complex space, you’ll find clearer guidance, more structure, and easier navigation throughout.
New! Getting Started with the Platform
To help users hit the ground running, we’ve added a Getting Started with the Platform walkthrough. This guide walks through the major components of Kinetic, explains how they fit together, and gives users their first steps for building, configuring, and launching solutions.
Updated Platform Overview for Admins
A new Platform Overview for Admins section has been added to clarify roles, terminology, and configuration responsibilities. From understanding Spaces and Kapps to managing users and security, this section helps administrators feel confident navigating the system.
Workflow Documentation Redesign
We’ve reorganized and expanded our Workflow documentation to better reflect how most builders use the system today—starting with form-level workflows. The new content clarifies terminology, introduces best practices, and walks through real-world use cases for approvals, routing, and data integrations.
Front-End Development & Theming Updates
Our front-end documentation now reflects our move toward React-based themes and bundles. Updates include:
- Guidance for building custom components
- Improved examples of form rendering overrides
- Local development tips for React apps (including VM testing and SSO configuration)
Integration & HTTP Connector Improvements
We’ve expanded the Integrator and connection configuration documentation to cover:
- New support for secrets and health checks
- Better error logging practices
- Recommendations for secure and scalable HTTP connections
These updates are especially useful for builders configuring external system interactions.
Security & Space Settings Updates
Security documentation has been overhauled to provide clearer explanations of:
- Trusted domains and frame policies
- OAuth client setup
- Team and role differences
- Attribute-based access control
These sections are designed to help you understand not just how to set things up—but why they matter.
